ORLA Montessori values the natural curiosity and learning abilities of a child. The classroom has materials specially designed and sequenced to spark curiosity and foster independent learning.

Personal Supplies: Please label with your child's name

All Students:
A complete change of clothes for your child in a Ziploc bag (in case of accidents or spills).
1 pair of clean gym shoes to leave at school for use in the gym or classroom on muddy days.
Emergency Supply Bag – 1 gallon Ziploc bag filled with non-perishable food items. Food items should have a 1-year shelf life.
1 - blue, plastic 2-pocket folder
1 ream plain OR any color copy paper

Kindergarten only:
1 tote bag for storing books selected for quiet reading time.
1 Cloth Placemat (for packing in your child’s lunchbox).
1 Primary Journal (each page is ½ blank space for drawing and has lines underneath for writing) Last year, Office Depot and Fred Meyer carried these.
1 pack of 3x5 notecards spiral bound or on a ring
1 “½ inch”  three ring view binder

Most materials are shared. Do not mark with your child’s name unless otherwise noted.

ALL STUDENTS:
24 pencils (Ticonderoga really are better quality)
2 packages disinfectant wipes
1 clipboard. Mark with your child’s name.
4 folders with 2 pockets: Please DO NOT Mark with your child’s name.
1 2-pocket folder with prongs
1 primary composition book (space for drawing and writing). Mark with your child’s name.
3 composition book wide ruled no picture space. Please DO NOT Mark with your child’s name.
1 set watercolor paints
1 bottle white glue and 1 pk of glue sticks
1 pair indoor shoes or slippers
1 box tissues
1 pair student sized scissors
1 (1 1/2”) 3-ring binder Please put your child’s name on this if possible.
1 emergency pack: a ziplock bag labeled with your child’s name and filled with nonperishable
snacks and an emergency thermal blanket.

Here is the list of supplies for Upper Elementary Montessori for the upcoming year. We will be organizing our work in a binder and practice in our composition books. I can’t wait to meet the new 4th graders and look forward to seeing the 5th and 6th graders return. Here’s to a new year of learning.
